Affiliate Disclosure

Emergency Water Source earns commissions from some of the links on this site. Here is exactly how that works, and exactly what it does not change.

The statement Amazon requires

Emergency Water Source is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, and as an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

The Associates Program is an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.

What an affiliate link actually does

If you click an affiliate link here and buy something, I may receive a small commission — and you pay exactly the same price you would have paid anyway.

The link carries a tracking tag that tells the retailer the visit came from this site. It sets a cookie in your browser, on the retailer’s side, not mine. It does not add anything to your cost, and it does not change what the retailer shows you. If you would rather not use it, searching for the same product directly works just as well and costs you the same.

Every affiliate link on this site carries rel="sponsored nofollow" and appears only after the disclosure at the top of the page it sits on.

What commissions do not buy

No product appears on this site because of a commission, and no assessment is softened because of one.

The line I hold. Affiliate relationships do not decide which products appear, what order they appear in, or what is said about them — including the parts that might talk you out of buying. Every product page here carries an honest “who this is not for” section, and those sections cost me money.

How products get chosen, and what I refuse to print

Products are selected from manufacturer documentation only, and any specification the manufacturer does not publish is printed as “not stated” rather than guessed at.

Comparison tables on this site contain four kinds of cell and no fifth: a figure stated by the manufacturer, a figure calculated from a published constant and visibly labelled as arithmetic, the literal words “not stated by the manufacturer”, or no column at all. Nothing is inferred, averaged, or carried across from a similar product.

  • No prices, discounts, or coupon claims. Prices move; a printed one is wrong within days. Check the listing.
  • No star ratings, review counts, or stock claims.
  • No hands-on or laboratory testing is claimed, because none is performed. Where a page compares products, it compares documentation, and it says so on the page.
  • Safety and regulatory claims — food-grade status, BPA content, certifications, stated shelf life — are printed only with manufacturer or regulator documentation behind them.

Teaching comes before selling

Product recommendations appear after the information you would need to judge them, never before it.

No section on this site opens with a product block. If a page recommends something, the reasoning that leads to the recommendation is above it, and the reasons you might not want it are below it.

Questions about any of this, including which links on a given page are affiliate links: a.ijoe147@gmail.com.

Effective 5 September 2026. Next scheduled review September 2027. We update this page when our practices change, and the effective date above changes with it.
