Accessibility

Accessibility Policy

How Emergency Water Source is built so that everyone can read it, use its calculators and find what they need, and how to tell us when something gets in your way.

Effective 6 October 2026Next review October 2027

Our goal

Emergency Water Source aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA on every page.

Preparedness information should work for everyone who needs it, including people who use a keyboard instead of a mouse, a screen reader, magnification or reduced-motion settings. No independent accessibility audit has been carried out on this site, so we do not claim full conformance; this page describes what we build in, how we check it, and how to reach us when we fall short.

What we build into every page

Every page on Emergency Water Source is built to be usable without a mouse, without animation and without JavaScript.

  • Keyboard: every link, button and calculator control can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
  • Motion: when your device asks for reduced motion, animations are switched off and every word and figure is shown at once.
  • Without JavaScript: the full text, every figure and each calculator’s starting result are in the page itself.
  • Calculators: results are announced to screen readers as they change, and each calculator explains how it works in plain text.
  • Images: images that carry information have descriptive alternative text; decorative images are marked so screen readers skip them. Figures are never shown only inside a picture.
  • Reading: text is sized and coloured for contrast, pages use real headings in order, and nothing essential is hidden behind hover.

How we check

Before a page is published, it is checked in a real browser in four states: desktop, phone, JavaScript off and reduced motion.

Those checks look for content that is hidden or cut off, text squeezed too narrow to read, broken images, and calculators that give the wrong result or stop working. A person also reads every page before it publishes. We re-check pages when they are updated.

Known limitations

Some content that appears on or through Emergency Water Source is controlled by other companies and may not meet the same standard.

This includes retailer pages that our product links open, such as Amazon, and any third-party advertising if it is added in future. We cannot change those pages, but we will tell you what we know if one of them blocks you.

Tell us about a problem

If anything on Emergency Water Source is hard to use with your setup, email us and we will respond within 5 business days.

Write to a.ijoe147@gmail.com with the page address and what happened, and, if you are comfortable sharing it, the browser and any assistive technology you use. We aim to fix confirmed problems within 10 business days, and if a fix takes longer we will send you the information you need in another format in the meantime.

Effective 6 October 2026. Next review October 2027. When our practices change, this page changes, and so does the date above.
